dpot Clocks

Another photo I never posted from last spring are these little silicone clocks from dpot {I can't find them on the website which is mostly in Korean and I can't read it.  I'm assuming they are either not being sold yet or are sold out}.  They are simple and colorful and since they are so small they can be tucked into an office workstation or tiny corner of the home.

The concept with this clock is that the hands are the same length.  You are meant to read them with the wider hand as the hour hand and the thinner one as the minute hand, just as they are when the hands are different lengths.  It's a bit different but still intuitive.

Eiffel Stool

I took these pictures of the Eiffel stool by RS Barcelona way back in May 2011, at the ICFF, and I never got around to fixing the image and posting it.  Funny thing is, I inadvertently posted them back in January {look at the bottom left photo}.

They are some of the cutest stools I have seen.  Small, stackable and they come in paper, aluminum, painted or shiny metallic.  They would be great in a small space for extra seating since you can stack them in the corner or a closet.

After 3 months, I have finally run out of ICFF photos to post.  As usual I'll probably find some stragglers to put up later, but for now I'll leave you with this last photo.

Espacio Sami Hayek

I've been referring to this photo as the mystery booth photo since there was no one around when I arrived and I didn't really remember seeing a name or sign. Some serious sleuthing {which is hard over 2 months later, things kind of get fuzzy} led me to Espacio Sami Hayek's website and I found it!

I really liked these pillows.

And I also liked my fancy Photoshopping job in the corner.  I managed to get the tools out and put the floor in.  Sometimes I can do this, sometimes I can't.

This time I could!

Dupenny

This vintage-inspired wallpaper from Dupenny is adorable and would look amazing in a powder room or dressing room. There are a few different styles; burlesque, 50s housewife {shown below}, and splash! but I really love the 1920s glamour paper.

Formfjord

I'm sort of in love with these futuristic crown lights from Formfjord.  A part of me thinks they would need a very modern space to live in, but then again....

Birka Daybed

I have a fondness for cushions that are sewn as this daybed cushion below, by Lichterloh Kunsthandels, an Austrian company specializing in furniture from the 20s to the 70s.  I'm not sure what it is but something about the style {especially of the edges} always catches my eye.

I didn't get as excited about the legs as I did the cushion which is why I photographed the piece as I did but if you are interested, the whole daybed is here.

Flowerpot Pendant Light

 

I thought these little pendant lights looked very Pantone-esque {happily 60s/70s} and I was surprised to see I was right.  They are the Flowerpot VP1 Pendant Light by Verner Panton.  At the time, I didn't remember seeing them around before but I have seen the larger ones, it was the size that threw me off.  I'm totally in love with the desk lamp, someday I hope one of those finds it's way to my desk.

Coop

When my father was growing up in Brooklyn, he had chickens that lived on the fire escape.  Being a chicken in Brooklyn now means you can have an actual modern coop your own bed, a picture window and a solar powered fan for those hot days.  

I was assured that the chickens would like it in there and I can't say I would argue about that.  Coop by Raad Studio.

Contra Forma

This puzzle rug by Contra Forma is a bit different than your ordinary rug. You can customize it and choose your colors. I love the idea of using it in a kids room and they could even help put it together.

The only thing that concerns me about this rug is the material, it is made of polypropylene but I wish it was felt. I bought a rug of polypropylene a while ago and had it for about a year or two {I got it because it was cheap, it was $60 CDN so maybe $45 USD at that point} it was like having a giant fleece jacket on my floor. I swear it was sucking any piece of lint or cat hair in the whole house to it and it stuck no matter how hard I vacuumed or cleaned it.  I finally had to throw it away because even steam cleaning it didn't make it look clean {so I couldn't even leave it at Goodwill}.

This was about 5 years ago or more so perhaps polypropylene has come a long way since then....I know it's pretty common in rugs.

Rapture And Wright

Rapture and Wright is a great line of fabrics and wallpapers that is graphic but in a soft sort of way {I don't know exactly how to describe it but that is the word that comes to mind}.  They are all hand printed and can be made with custom colors which is helpful.  Sometimes it's so disappointing to have a fabric you love not available in the colors you need.

Phillip Jeffries Ltd

Phillip Jeffries wallcoverings are one of those things that are always in the office but I don't know that I've ever used.  I do really love grasscloth though, especially the trellis pattern which also made an appearance here and I really want a reason to use a metallic grasscloth for myself.  Perhaps someday.

Speaking of metallics, last night at a design event I saw some really cool wood flooring with metallic paints on top pulling out the grain.  They are hard to explain but I will try to find a link and a picture.  It's way too early and too hot right now.

3Form

I mentioned 3-Form last week, and I am actually kind of excited about their new lighting.  It could be really great in the right office.

 

And the striped panels could be an amazing counter in a lunch room or restaurant or perhaps it would be nice as shelving?  It's plastic but it's made of 100% post-consumer plastic bottles so you don't have to feel guilty using it like I did when I bought my IKEA plastic coated lateral files {in my defense, I didn't realize the insides of the drawers were plastic until I was putting it together or I would have thought about them for at least another year before buying them}.

Chilewich - Glitter Curtains

In grad school, I worked at a job where I had to show up at an assigned time.  When I was late, I used to tell my boss that I had seen something shiny on the way and had to stop. It never actually worked as well as I thought as an excuse, but I used it over and over nonetheless {much to my poor boss's dismay}.

I may have been stretching the truth a bit back then but I certainly stopped for these Chilewich fabric panels - if you look closely you can see they have a bit of shimmer to them where the light shines through.  They would look amazing in a restaurant or hotel.

Jonathan Adler

This is sort of a nonsense post. I love the wallpaper and the shape of the sofa so I didn't want this photo to get lost somewhere in the depths of my giant hard drive.  It's Jonathan Adler, of course.

Luke Irwin Carpet

I'm always on the lookout for interesting carpets and Luke Irwin Carpets has quite a few that caught my eye.

My favorites are the African Crescent and the Hittite carpets {not pictured above}.

Jeremy Cole Lighting

I'm always interested to see the light patterns fixtures create.  Sometimes they are as interesting as the light itself as is the case in this Jeremy Cole fixture.

It's a beautiful sculptural light off, but I really enjoy the shadows it creates when turned on.

Puck And Blossom

For July 4th, I thought it was appropriate to schedule a post of outdoor furniture.  Puck and Blossom have some amazing stuff made in the states.  I love the pattern on the screen most of all but the stool kept catching my eye like other small things this year have been.

And who doesn't want a fire pit on a summer holiday.

Khouri Guzman Bunce Limited

I really like these carpets I've been noticing for the last year or so, at the ICFF last year {but I forgot what booth} and locally at the Design Center.  The most recent was by Khouri Guzman Bunce Limited.

It is less distinct than other carpets I've seen but the pattern is distinct in some portions of the carpet but deconstructed in others.  It almost dissolves in the middle of this green carpet.

Clei

This murphy-bed from Clei is a bit of an upgrade from the traditional murphy bed as it incorporates a sofa in the unit.  This is really nice if you have a small space and don't want to have to decide on a sofa or a bed.

I didn't get a photo of the bed down but all you have to do is remove two of the pillows from the sofa {and anything on the shelf} and fold the bed down.  They have some great fold-away bunk beds as well.
