Ana Romero Textiles

I love this beautiful patterns by of the Ana Romero Collection I found at this year's ICFF.  Sold as pillows and other accessories, this fabric is some of the nicest silk I have come across in a while.

I love the chevron stripe in the pink and the pattern made into wallpaper for the booth.  I would love to see these patterns sold as fabric by the yard some day and was I was told it was a possibility for the future.

New Pillow Fabric

While I'm anxiously waiting for my sofa to be reupholstered, I have been searching through my fabric scraps and pillow covers to see what I have that will work with the new sofa fabric.  I have this amazing red cotton velveteen that works well with the Robert Allen floral I have to make draperies {someday}.  It's super soft, though not as soft as the navy blue cotton velvet I have, and will look nice against the brown sofa fabric.

I also picked up some pillow covers a while ago made out of the Romo fabric.  I was so sad when I found out the fabric had been discontinued.  Not too long after, I found these pillows on Etsy and was happy again.  The flowers were red instead of the orange I had originally wanted but that turned out to be a good thing.

It was good because I have the aforementioned velveteen.  No, I wouldn't put those pillows with the drapery fabric but it will still need to work with the Romo pillows.  I'm so indecisive about what I actually want things to look like {probably due to being exposed to so many beautiful fabrics} and I'm thinking of finding some fabrics to make a "winter" set so I can have a different feeling in the living room for the winter.  In addition, apartments in the Boston area tend to be old and have super drafty windows.  I would be able to line one set of draperies to keep out some of the winter cold.   So, I'm thinking I might make a long lumbar pillow or a bolster of some sort out of the red velveteen that can stay year round. 

And, because that wasn't enough, it also works well with the scrap of Sanderson Maia fabric I have in my scrap pile.  Enough for me to make a pillow.  Sadly, I forgot to pick up some cording material to make a welt around the edge last time I was at the fabric shop but I'll get it when I go back.  I need to find some nice quality inserts eventually to so this pillow will probably wait until I have that accomplished to get the measurements perfect.

I love how the birds look like they are almost unfinished sketches of birds.

Hopefully someday soon I'll get this all pulled together.  I may decide I'm too cheap for two sets of curtains or wind up with a place too small to store them.  I have time now to decide though so I'll figure it out.

Espacio Sami Hayek

I've been referring to this photo as the mystery booth photo since there was no one around when I arrived and I didn't really remember seeing a name or sign. Some serious sleuthing {which is hard over 2 months later, things kind of get fuzzy} led me to Espacio Sami Hayek's website and I found it!

I really liked these pillows.

And I also liked my fancy Photoshopping job in the corner.  I managed to get the tools out and put the floor in.  Sometimes I can do this, sometimes I can't.

This time I could!

Dupenny

This vintage-inspired wallpaper from Dupenny is adorable and would look amazing in a powder room or dressing room. There are a few different styles; burlesque, 50s housewife {shown below}, and splash! but I really love the 1920s glamour paper.

Red Damask

I was looking at fabric over the weekend with someone else and I fell in love with this red and tan damask fabric.

The best part is that it is being made into pillow covers for me for my birthday {I guess I'll have to be patient}.  It's also incentive to actually reupholster my sofa instead of just planning to reupholster it.  This might be the time to confess I purchased the fabric to reupholster it three years ago....

In the meantime, I'll be rockin' the pillows on my blue sofa.

Sofa Upgrade - On The Cheap

When I get bored of my living room I usually just change the pillows (or pillow covers) since it's cheap and I'm fairly happy with my furniture. I can also sew a bit so when I saw these pillows that have been made from Anthropologie placemats I was in love.


I usually just get fabric or pre-made covers so I don't have to get new pillow forms and the covers fold and store nicely in case I want to change back. Recently I bought a box of stuffing when I was making soft blocks as baby presents so I have plenty of that to make any sized pillow I need, I was thinking of some bolsters. I guess I wouldn't need placemats for that!

It's something to think about. First I have to get my sofa reupholstered!
