Way back near the very beginning of my blog {originally at another url} I made a post about matching pets to your decor. At the time, I happened to make the statement that I didn't do it myself.
Then this happened.
She practically blends right into the 'fancy' 70s tile in the bathroom. The funny thing is that I never noticed it even though this is her favorite room {she loves the running water}.

Coop
When my father was growing up in Brooklyn, he had chickens that lived on the fire escape. Being a chicken in Brooklyn now means you can have an actual modern coop your own bed, a picture window and a solar powered fan for those hot days.
I was assured that the chickens would like it in there and I can't say I would argue about that. Coop by Raad Studio.

Pet Photography...
...of the most amazing sort by Tim Flach.
For the last 10 years I have been waiting to adopt a puli. It's hard to rent with a dog in and around Boston, so as soon as I own a home I'm going to put myself on a Puli rescue list. I'm assuming it will probably take another 10 years to actually adopt a dog since there is one rescue group in the whole country.
Until then I have a very cute cat. I don't have to walk her, so she's a keeper even if she does empty my bookshelves when she gets bored.

Loyal Luxe
I have a cat who regularly attempts to destroy everything I own. She looks innocent but is actually a little terror. I often find the bottom of the bookshelf completely empty, the furniture rearranged and carpet squares detached from their adhesive and spread around the room. My laptop has taken more than a few leaps off the ottoman I keep it on when she has decided she can't share the space. Needless to say, I don't spend much money on stuff for her as those things are quickly destroyed as well {she does have plenty of toys}.
I recently found this modern cat chalet by Loyal Luxe which is adorable and extremely reasonably priced at $19 CAD {so I'm assuming $30ish US including shipping and the currency exchange fee}. With most of the things I post I like them but don't actually consider buying much. I am seriously considering getting this house though. It's cute but pretty unobtrusive and simple with dangly things and scratchy parts and if it was destroyed in a savage attack, I wouldn't have a meltdown. I'd probably just use it as an excuse for a trip to Montreal to buy another.
I'm hoping it will reduce the number of times I find my clothes all over the floor and the drawer full of cat fur instead.

Matching Pets to Furniture?
I don't do it myself but I kind of love that these cats coordinate with their homes. And I also kind of love the white floor.

Where Stylish Cats Do Their Business

I came across these new litterboxes and think they are fantastic. They made me giggle they were so great and the people at the ICFF booth were great as well. Finally a litter box that is a bit nicer on the eye, you almost don't know what it is {except for the scoop on the side}. I think in white it is the most unobtrusive.
It looks a bit small on first view but on the Modkat website they have a video of a fairly long cat using the box and it seems to work quite nicely.

The downside I see is that, at $180, they cost about as much as a {very low end} toilet but it doesn't flush, you still have to clean it by hand.
