Louis Vuitton :: Spring LV Window Display

I do realize it is now officially fall, but this window display from Louis Vuitton is really seasonless {well, maybe if you pay attention to their handbags you may notice}. 

I love the graphic and metallic nature of these letters.  That's something Louis Vuitton always has a ton of  in their windows - amazingly shiny things.

If you look at the text on the 'L' photo you will see the reference to scanning something to get exclusive content in their 'application'.  I can't stop giggling over this because it took me forever to realize they mean their app!  Am I the only one finding this hilarious?

Louis Vuitton Window Display :: Pushy Little Men

Unfortunately Louis Vuitton stores are always in indoor malls in Massachusetts so a good photo of their window displays can be a rare thing. I debated for a few months on whether or not to show these images because they are so hard to see, but I decided in the end, it was an interesting concept, so here you are!

The displays were fairly straightforward, but scattered about there were little men holding up huge piles of blocks, pushing bags away, and performing various other 'tasks'.  They are almost like little tuxedo-clad elves.

Louis Vuitton Window Display :: Box of Chocolates

I can't help but feel like I'm missing something with this Louis Vuitton window display.  It looks like a fancy box of chocolates to me, but part of me also thinks it looks like something else.  What that is, I have no idea.  I do know if I got a box of chocolates that was this expensive, I would never eat it....

Louis Vuitton Windows with Yayoi Kusama

I try to post window displays in a timely fashion but this Louis Vuitton / Yayoi Kusama window is a bit late.  However, it is just in time for the last days of the Yayoi Kusama exhibit at the Whitney Museum in New York. 

Her work is quite interesting if you have never seen it, it's worth a look.  It's slightly surreal with polka dots and flowers that look like something out of Little Shop of Horrors - man-eating flowers.  The window displays capture this quite well.

 

Louis Vuitton Shirt Window Display

I came across this new Louis Vuitton window display last week. It is full of paper 'starched shirts' folded just like you would see them in a store.

There is a men's version that is simple, with a pointed collar and also displayed in a pointed formation.

I don't generally walk to the other side of the store to see if the window is different but this time I did and found a women's version on a bright yellow background.

The formation and the shape of the collar is rounded and this has a more intricate pattern on it.

Louis Vuitton Arrow Window Display

I love the vibrant colors and pattern of this Louis Vuitton window display.

I wish I was able to get other photos without so much glare but will add more if I can.

LV Cupcake Window Display?

Back in January, I came across this window display and had NO idea what was going on. Was it a gold and brown paper fan? I couldn't figure out where the cherry fit in to the fan. I can usually figure out what a window display is trying to be but this one had me stumped. {This is the same window that had the tipsy bags last time I visited.}

I just couldn't figure it out so I did some research and found this picture. Much better!

Without looking at the other windows it doesn't really make sense, perhaps they ran out of cupcakes...

Swing Window Display

I found this swing window display while I was braving the Christmas shopping crowds the other day. My favorite window displays are simple with good details and this one mostly fits the bill.

I love the thick gold rope holding the swings.  I love the simplicity of the swing itself which, from afar, is just a bar with gold caps.

The thing that wasn't as thought out was this little gold shelf holding the bag up.  As an element of the design it is very unobtrusive since it's very thin and almost unnoticeable.  Up close, you can see that the bags had to be held on with fishing wire {see the one on the left leaning precariously forward}.  This could have been avoided if a different, perhaps more structured bag, was displayed or if the shelf was a bit wider.  I think that would have made the display that much better.

Louis Vuitton - Golden Eggs

I thought this new window display was clever {as usual}.  If I recall correctly, the interiors of the eggs are gold in color, and if they aren't then they should be.

Now if only they'd stop snatching up stock to try for a hostile takeover of Hermès.  I would think owning 60 companies would be enough.....

Louis Vuitton Fall Window

This display at Louis Vuitton caught my eye last fall as I was rushing past {rushing is how I make trips to the mall since I don't really enjoy being there}.  The colors of the gold spools against the dark background gave the display a very rich feeling.  

I wish the picture did this justice, some day I will learn how to outsmart my camera.  A better picture is here.

Louis Vuiton Summer Window

I seem to be on a bit of a retail design kick these days.  Next month it will be hotels or restaurants or residential interiors, I'm sure.

I found this picture that I hadn't yet posted of a Louis Vuitton summer window I loved.

They have drawn a "trunk" around their normal display windows.  It is quite charming and a simple way to make the long rectangular display window a bit more special than it otherwise is.

They have since changed the display, but it was a great idea.  As a total wild guess, I think the drawing references the history of the company since they were once popular for their travel trunks, not their logo bags.  Million dollar travel trunks.

Louis Vuitton

I usually don't give this shop a second look but the windows at Louis Vuitton right now are very clever. They have their products locked up in large, gold birdcages. The overall effect is quite stunning especially since the window was lit very well so that everything sparkles {the pictures I took don't quite do it justice}.

 

  

It's even more funny if you saw the tragic Newlyweds episode where Jessica Simpson brought her Vuitton handbag on a camping trip and treated it like a pet.  Don't judge me for knowing that...
