Tory Burch Holiday Window Display

Am I the only one who used the labor of 20 tiny little fingers to wrap my Christmas presents this year?  In my defense, my nieces were thrilled to help and they'll be excited to tell their cousins they wrapped the hilarious little packages {they managed to use twice the necessary paper}.

I should probably have taken a lesson from Tory Burch's window people as their holiday window display features straight lines of brightly colored ribbons.  My pictures are terrible as usual but the glossy ribbons looked really nice, I'm loving the woven plaid look.

Fun fact!  Handbags from Tory Burch and Kate Spade are returned the most often at Nordstrom according to the sales person I spoke with.  They're so pretty but, knowing that, I'll save my money for another brand.

J Crew Christmas Window Display

I love this winter/Christmas window display at J. Crew {I know I always say this but I don't photograph the ones I don't love}.  It's very subtle with the Christmas theme, only some balls on one of the trees, but it's nicely done with the black background. 

Many seasons they will use fabric patterns in their window display backgrounds but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Instead, it looks like they're using up the gold paper from the fall display.

Club Monaco :: Summer/Winter Window Display

This is actually a summer display as you can tell from the clothes, but I think the white yarn that serves as a backdrop actually looks like snow!  Maybe a better name for it is a seasonally ambiguous window display?  It looks nice and soft, whatever it's meant to be.

J. Crew :: Fall Window Display

Fall is here!  At least in New England we have fall weather, perfect for jackets and sweaters, and the leaves are starting to change colors!  There is very little that makes me this happy about any other season.

I love the gold leaves of this J. Crew window display.  They didn't photograph as well as I would have liked {I was in a different mall than normal during daylight hours, and I'm pretty sure Paul Blart fell out of one of those skylights} but it's pretty nonetheless.

Louis Vuitton :: Spring LV Window Display

I do realize it is now officially fall, but this window display from Louis Vuitton is really seasonless {well, maybe if you pay attention to their handbags you may notice}. 

I love the graphic and metallic nature of these letters.  That's something Louis Vuitton always has a ton of  in their windows - amazingly shiny things.

If you look at the text on the 'L' photo you will see the reference to scanning something to get exclusive content in their 'application'.  I can't stop giggling over this because it took me forever to realize they mean their app!  Am I the only one finding this hilarious?

Anthropologie Window Display :: The Birds

I figure this is the perfect time to post these Anthropologie winter window photos from the Rockefeller Center store.  There's a lot of snow dusted about these windows {and it's pretty, unlike the seven feet of snow we have lying around here}.

I love the mix of birds and iconic New York buildings.

Fendi Winter Window Display

Or should I call it the ENDI window display?!?  I'm fascinated by this very dramatic lady parasailing in a dress and fluffy hood. I actually love all these windows.  They're simple and bright and dramatic which in my mind is what a window display should be.

Coach Winter Window Display

Early in December, in the middle of the week, I took a day trip to Manhattan to see the window displays.  I'd like to pretend it's a yearly thing but really it's more of a yearly if it works out trip.

The good thing is that most of the holiday window displays are more like winter window displays so I can post them at my leisure.  The rest will wait until next December!

The Coach window display below is one of my favorites because of the graphic quality of the New York skyline.

Louis Vuitton Window Display :: Pushy Little Men

Unfortunately Louis Vuitton stores are always in indoor malls in Massachusetts so a good photo of their window displays can be a rare thing. I debated for a few months on whether or not to show these images because they are so hard to see, but I decided in the end, it was an interesting concept, so here you are!

The displays were fairly straightforward, but scattered about there were little men holding up huge piles of blocks, pushing bags away, and performing various other 'tasks'.  They are almost like little tuxedo-clad elves.

Hermes Window Display :: Geometric Shapes

So I first thought these geometric window displays at Hermes was just okay.  Clean and geometric, but nothing special.

Then I really looked at the other windows and realized there were geometric people in the non-mannequin windows which is quite clever because just passing by you may not see this. 

Some of these remind me of 1980s French fashion though, maybe it's just the poses and geometry but I can't shake that feeling with the geometric woman window.
