Target & Missoni

I went over to Target today to see the Missoni items and by 1 pm the store looked like it had been ransacked.  All I can think is the running of the brides at Filene's Basement {and if you don't know what that is, see this clip}.  There was a woman there with a friend telling her everything she had purchased that morning which seemed to be everything they were selling, and that the line was crazy long in the morning.  It's a good thing I waited because I would have been driven crazy if I had to wait in line.

I tried to see things online before I went and was met with this.

To me, the collection was about what I expected it would be.  The stuff was okay but it's still Target quality so I got some socks, folders and a candle {future super cute pencil holder}, but overall nothing I felt was super special.  I'd kind of rather save up for the real thing.  Someday.

Did anyone get anything they absolutely loved?

Miscellaneous Martha's Vineyard

I found a couple of little shops in Vineyard Haven that looked cute and promising from the window vignettes.  I didn't have a chance to make into these shops but I snapped a couple of photos to remember them for my next trip.

The first one, Beetlebung, seemed to have a couple of shops on the island, I saw one in Edgartown and one in Vineyard Haven.  I didn't go in their clothing shops but I happily visited the coffee shop/restaurant.  I love their modern take on the canvas tote {aka Bean Bag}.

The other shop that looked like it would be a good place to visit was Bramhall & Dunn, it also seemed to have shops on both ends of the island and had another version of a canvas tote.  And, though it's hard to see, a lamp made out of an old bottle in the bottom photo.

They are on my list for next time.

A Forkin' Great Deal at Fish's Eddy

I love this sign, and so did the people you can kind of see on the right. I cut them out so they weren't on the internet without knowing, but they both had HUGE grins on their faces. :)

Fishs Eddy in Manhattan is a fabulous place to go if you're shopping for anything from well-priced basics, including inexpensive silverware and glassware, to expensive things you don't really need but just plain want - like the Brooklyn line of plates that I'm kind of in love with.

Chair, Deconstructed

I visited ABC Carpet & Home last month for the first time.

They have great window displays, and were very into broken and old but interesting looking chairs. This trend continued into the store where they were selling ripped apart chairs with springs hanging out of the bottom. They all had great silhouettes and sturdy frames that with some love could be fabulous one day.


The interior of the store was like a high-end {translation: wicked expensive} Pier 1 imports, it had furniture and accessories piled high and you could spend hours just browsing and still not see everything. 

I fell in love with this floral chandelier in the white section, covered in small white porcelain flowers.  You can kind-of see it hanging over the table, I think it was my favorite item in the store.

The fabric and drapery section downstairs was a huge contrast to the commotion of the upper floors. It seemed very quiet and serene and they had aisle after aisle of beautiful fabrics.

I didn't have as much time to spend inside as I would have liked to so at some point I will have to make a return trip but it was a fun place to see.
