Wildspirit

Two years ago I found some great stools by Wildspirit at the ICFF and forgot I hadn't posted about them until I found the catalog in my files.  How could you NOT want to look through a catalog with this guy on the cover {his name is Happy and on the catalog cover he's even hypoallergenic for those who are allergic}.  I really just want to grab his ears and squeeze him - in a nice way of course.

Back to the design stuff now.  These Spring bamboo stools are amazingly well made.  I remember at the time I saw them being stunned at how seamless the joints are and how good the craftsmanship was.  I would love to have a project where I could use them.

Cocoon Fires

I fell in love with these tiny mod fireplaces at the ICFF by Cocoon Fires.  They stand or hang from the ceiling and run on ethanol.  It looks like they are currently only available in Australia and New Zealand.  That is a bit disappointing but perhaps they will be available in the States soon.  The only unfortunate thing about these fireplaces being vent free is that many places in the US don't allow vent free fireplaces anyway {NYC & California for sure don't allow them}.

Wouldn't it be great to have one of these on a porch for cold spring and fall nights?

Invisible Speakers

One of my favorite things at the ICFF this year were the speakers from Amina Technologies.

The speakers are set in the wall and plastered, or drywalled, over.  They sounded great and since they are invisible they look great too {I never find speakers good looking so to hide them would be wonderful}. 

Anything that can be done to eliminate clutter is good, in my opinion.

What's Not To Like About A Sparkly Room??

I actually thought Brocade Home had disappeared, but they had a booth this year at the ICFF, and a new store I guess.  Although I like their merchandise {who can resist all that silver and white?}, I'd be nervous ordering online due their past.

I'm hoping they have pulled things together though, because I do love that wallpaper and those mirrors.

MyVinilo

I like the idea of wall decals as a quick and relatively painless way to add something different to a space without a ton of effort.  A lot of the decals I have seen have had warnings that they can't be repositioned or removed but these decals from MyVinilo of Barcelona can be.  If you make a mistake or change your mind and need to move it or reposition it you can.

From my chat with them, it seems as though in most circumstances the paint or surface underneath will be unaffected as well {so if you're renting a place and can't paint, things will probably be okay}, but after a long time it's possible there may be some damage or discoloration.  The ones on display at the ICFF seemed to peel right off like Colorforms.

Trove

I posted about Trove wallcoverings last year {well, I posted my ICFF photos from last year when I found them in January}, but I couldn't help taking a peak at what they were showing this year.

The new wallcoverings qualify for LEED points and are rated for commercial use as well as residential.  I can't wait to have a project where I can use these.

Planko Design

I think these little trophy heads made of used furniture parts, and designed by Planko Designs, are a great alternative to the animal heads that are still popping up all over.  They are vegetarian friendly too!

b1cr

For the past couple of years at the ICFF, Bernhardt Design and George Little Management have sponsored a scholarship/competition for new furniture designers.  Last year I posted images of Joel Escalona's Dancing Table.

This year, the furniture that caught my eye was the b1cr table series designed by Viktor Skorikov.  The tables are made of powder coated aluminum tubing and are made to nest inside one another {good if you are low on space and want extra seating}.  They are simple but not at all boring with their ribbed surface and candy colors.

ICFF

I returned early Sunday morning from my trip to Manhattan for the ICFF.  I'm still organizing my photos and trying to figure out where a couple of photos are from, but I can't wait to post all the amazing new things I found.  I'm also interested to see what other people have found and are excited about, the show seemed twice as busy as last year and I know there is so much I missed.
