I love Ting Studio's idea of using recycled belts as modular leather floor tiles. They are handmade in the UK with vintage leather belts destined for landfills. The belts are mounted, with water-based glue, onto a reconstituted leather backing.
Tanning leather is pretty hard on the environment so I am very happy that Ting Studio is producing these tiles and reusing the leather that exists. Also the water-based glue won't add any harmful chemicals to the finished product.
I can see this product not only in a residential use, perhaps a modern loft, but also in a retail or nightclub/restaurant setting. It's a whole lot of trips to Goodwill for a large space though.
